Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere R&D Center, which has signed many important projects since the day it started its activities, enables innovative ideas to come to life in the bus world with its work. Mercedes-Benz Türk, which received the R&D Center Certificate for the first time with the Hoşdere R&D Center established in 2009, with its Bus R&D team, interior equipment, bodywork, outer coating, electrical infrastructure of Mercedes-Benz and Setra brand buses all over the world, It works as a competence center for diagnostic systems and hardware durability tests.
Mercedes-Benz Türk Bus R&D team gave direction to Tourrider
Mercedes-Benz Türk Bus R&D team assumed important responsibilities in the R&D activities of Tourrider, which was developed specifically for the North American market. In Mercedes-Benz Tourrider, where the raw material was chosen as stainless steel in accordance with the expectations of the market, high corrosion resistance was achieved. Analysis and tests were carried out according to new parameters for stainless steel, a new innovation in bus bodywork. In addition, the necessary applications for the maintenance and repair of the buses at authorized service centers were developed specifically for Mercedes-Benz Tourrider.
The R&D activities of Mercedes’ electric city bus eCitaro were also carried out by the R&D Center in Hoşdere. eCitaro; Within the scope of road tests, all systems and equipment were tested in terms of function and durability under different climate and customer usage conditions. In this context, the first prototype vehicle of eCitaro; It has been tested for 2 years, at a distance of approximately 140,000 km, for 10,000 hours in Turkey’s harsh climatic conditions and different driving conditions. Fully electric eCitaros, which have undergone rigorous tests within the scope of Turkey’s global responsibility, are in service in various European cities.
Operating Test Department carries out road tests of Mercedes-Benz and Setra branded buses. With the Hydropuls endurance test, which is the most advanced test in the field of bus production R&D in Turkey, the road conditions that the vehicle is exposed to for 1,000,000 km are simulated and tested.

Mercedes-Benz Türk, the company with the highest number of patent applications in the first half of 2022, continued its leadership in the field in the January-August period. The company applied for a total of 127 patents in the first 8 months of the year, including 99 for the Truck R&D team and 28 for the Bus R&D team.
