Twitch streamer Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler organized his second sports event on the Joyn streaming platform with “Der Große Kick”. Here at MeinMMO you can find out how the event went.
What was that event? “Der Große Kick” was a football event by twitch streamer Trymacs in cooperation with the streaming platform Joyn, an Internet offer from the television channels ProSieben and Sat.1.
Joyn has already organized several events with the greats of the German streaming world this year: Trymacs started with its boxing event, followed by a game show by Jens “Knossi” Knossala and the escape show by Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris .
From the outset, however, the Big Kick was ill-fated: the event was originally supposed to be held on an ice surface, but entertainer Stefan Raab put a stop to that. But since tickets had already been sold, the event had to be changed.
MontanaBlack also had its own show on Joyn:
First participant out before the event even starts
This is how the event went: The Big Kick was carried out between 6 teams consisting of German influencers. There was a first and second round, a semi-final and finally the grand final. Each game lasted 7 minutes.
In between, mini-games such as “Captain’s Bubble” were held, in which the upper bodies of the players were in large plastic balls.

Fans could either watch the event live on site in the Lanxess Arena or watch it exclusively on Joyn. At the same time, there was a broadcast on the Trymacs Twitch channel, which was only used for exchange between viewers, because the image was pixelated and instead of the actual sound, there was only elevator music to be heard.
what went wrong The list of participants had already been mixed up a bit in advance and there were also changes at the event itself. MontanaBlack, who was scheduled to serve first as team captain and then as field reporter, dropped out altogether, with 7 vs. Wild contestant Starletnova taking over as reporter.
The next failure occurred during the warm-up: YouTuber Sebastian “Rewinside” Meyer injured himself and left the arena on a stretcher. He took it with humor and reported from the ambulance via Instagram and Twitter.
How is Rewinside? The YouTuber provided information about his injury in an Instagram story. Apparently he sustained an injury to the kneecap and the meniscus, part of the knee joint.
For Rewinside, this is the second Trymacs event that he cannot attend: the YouTuber already dropped out at the boxing event in April due to illness.
The event also ended painfully for the YouTuber Domenic “Chefstrobel” Strobel from the Trymacs team: He sustained an ugly injury to his toe. We have included the tweet for you here, and the announced photo can be seen in the comments of the post.
Not a big football mood
How was the event received? The big football mood didn’t seem to want to set in properly. While Joyn’s viewership numbers are unknown, the available data provides some clues.
An average of just 7,500 viewers watched the event on Trymacs’ Twitch chat, making Der Große Kick the 5th lowest-viewed Trymacs stream this year. At his boxing event, with almost 22,500 spectators on average, almost three times as many fans chatted (via sullygnome).
Since the event was broadcast on Joyn and not on Twitch, the actual number of viewers cannot be derived from this, but it seems that interest was comparatively low.
Anyone who now thinks that the missing spectators were rooting for the event is wrong: of the 18,000 seats available in the Lanxess Arena, numerous seats remained empty. A Twitter user shared images of the event, showing that while the lower tiers are packed, there is a gaping void higher up.
Despite a Christmas promotion where there were 2 tickets for the price of one, more than half of the seats are said to have been available the evening before the event (via Twitter). For comparison: 13,500 fans attended the Trymacs boxing event.
So there are some indications that the event fell well short of expectations. What consequences this will have for such influencer events on Joyn remains to be seen.
Who actually won? Even without a captain, the Rewinside team was able to qualify for the final. There, however, they lost to Marc Eggers’ team 1:3. The whole event is free to watch on Joyn.
There was already an accident a few weeks ago during MontanaBlack’s Get Away escape show on Joyn. YouTuber Kayla Shyx broke both her arms. In a video, she spoke about her injury and criticized the final game: it wasn’t quite fair.
