The Christmas Day murder in Rinkeby was the starting point.
After that, several explosions and shootings have occurred at homes in southern Stockholm.
Everything is suspected to be revenge after the murder of the rapper Einár, according to Aftonbladet’s information.
On Christmas Day, a man in his 30s was shot to death in Rinkeby.
The man, who belonged to the criminal network Dödspatrullen, was convicted of several serious crimes. But he was also suspected of having tricked Nils “Einár” Grönberg to the place where the artist was murdered last October, according to Aftonbladet’s information.
After the murder of the 30-year-old man, a spiral of violence flared up in the Stockholm area with both explosions and shootings. According to information to Aftonbladet, the police suspect that the events are connected and have been carried out as revenge for the murder of Einár.
– Someone wants their revenge and now they have gone hard against the people who have or know something about what happened. They have clearly shown that they have a large capital of violence when they have murdered, blown up and shot, says a source.
The suspected shooter was attacked
On Tuesday, an explosive device detonated at a residential building in Enskededalen in southern Stockholm. The police suspect that a person who is written on the address was the target in connection with the explosion.
The person has appeared in the investigation into the murder of Einár and Aftonbladet has previously written about how he is believed to be one of the shooters who shot Einár. According to information given to Aftonbladet, he has been abroad since Einár’s death and has also been seen with a large sum of money in connection with the shooting.
– He is not supposed to have ordered the shooting of Einár but was involved in its execution, says a source.
In an attempt to lure him out, the perpetrators have reportedly targeted others suspected of being involved in Einár’s murder.
On Wednesday evening, the police were alerted to a shooting at Gubbängen in southern Stockholm. Over 20 shots were fired through a door to an apartment. According to information to Aftonbladet, a police patrol was on site in Gubbängen during Wednesday evening to investigate a shooting earlier in the day when they received the alarm.
Shot at the wrong gate
The suspected perpetrators, who are two boys only 14 and 15 years old respectively, were caught red-handed.
At the time of the arrest, both boys were armed with guns and a police dog also found an AK47, an assault rifle, nearby, which could be linked to one of them using footprints, according to the records.
The shots were allegedly aimed at a person with connections to a network believed to have helped pay for Einár’s death, but they fired at the wrong gate.
– Why they targeted him in particular is unclear, he is believed to have had nothing to do with Einár’s death. But it is probably part of the plan to shake things up and attract those who had it, says an informant.
Alarm for a longer period of time
The two young suspected shooters are little more than children. Despite that, the school, police and parents have raised the alarm about them for a long time.
The 15-year-old was recently taken into custody according to the LVU (the Act on the care of young people) after he behaved without limits towards the adult world. He was charged just two weeks ago with a robbery.
Concerns were reported about the 14-year-old as early as 2021.
Aftonbladet has previously told about how the criminal networks increasingly use child soldiers. Their roles have changed. From scouting for the police and storing drugs and weapons – to being the ones who actually shoot.
“More attacks to come”
Meanwhile, the young guys don’t seem to mean anything to the network bosses.
– These guys were sent in with automatic weapons. Had they killed someone, it wouldn’t have mattered, life means so little in these circles, says a source.
The 15-year-old is currently under arrest. The 14-year-old is taken into care because of his young age.
But the police fear, according to Aftonbladet’s sources, that this is just the beginning of a revenge spiral, not at all different from all the others seen behind the shootings in Sweden. The murder of Einár has been unsolved for over a year and even though it is one of many shootings, the murder of Einár has engaged many.
Taking revenge for what happened on October 21, 2021 is something that many in the criminal world have stakes in.
– You can probably expect more attacks shortly, says a source.
