SNCF strike: TGV and TER disrupted this weekend, forecasts

SNCF strike TGV and TER disrupted this weekend forecasts

SNCF STRIKE. A strike affecting the Atlantic axis will disrupt the circulation of certain TGVs and TERs throughout the New Year weekend. Here are the forecasts.

The French were to be spared from a strike at the SNCF for the New Year, all will not have this luck in the end. Disturbances are indeed to be expected in Aquitaine, from Friday December 30, 2022 and until Monday January 2, 2023. This time it is a social movement initiated by the switchers of Bordeaux and its region, thus impacting the Atlantic high-speed line. Some traffic difficulties are therefore to be expected on this axis serving the west of France. The event remains very localized and will have no impact on the rest of the country.

What disturbances are expected this weekend?

The SNCF spoke about the difficulties that some travelers will encounter during the New Year’s Eve weekend. The disturbances will be minimal a priori:

Otherwise, France Blue Gironde announces that no TER will arrive or leave from Bordeaux Saint-Jean station on Saturday January 31 from 6:45 p.m., due to the closure of the command post.

It should be noted that as compensation after the cancellation of trains during the weekend of Christmas, the direction of the SNCF announced to reimburse at 200% all users whose TGV, Ouigo or Intercité was canceled during the strike, whether they exchanged their ticket or not. This compensation takes the form of a refund of the price of the ticket or a free exchange with another non-canceled ticket, as well as a voucher for twice the value of the ticket. Depending on the type of ticket, proceed as follows to obtain a 200% refund:

  • TGV or Intercity ticket : the request for compensation is made online via this form. Eurostar and Thalys tickets are excluded from compensation.
  • Ouigo ticket : the refund will be sent to you automatically by email in the next few days.
  • TER ticket : the request can be made to the customer service of the region concerned via the “Services & Contacts” section of the site.
