Charlotte Kalla is one of Sweden’s best cross-country skiers of all time.
In the spring of 2022, she decided to put her skis on the shelf after a long and successful career.
And now she instead dreams of completely different things than success on the ski slopes.

After a long and successful career in the ski slopes decided Charlotte Kalla to put the skis on the shelf in the spring of 2022. During her career, she managed to take home three Olympic golds, three WC golds and was also awarded the Jerring prize as the first Swedish skier to win the Tour de ski.

“It is true that…”

Her success has brought her to a life in the spotlight, but despite that, not much is really known about the 35-year-old from Tärendo when it comes to what happens outside the world of skiing. In November 2019, Kalla told us that she had a new boyfriend, but since then has actively chosen not to talk much about it.
– It’s true that I have a new boyfriend. We are fine, but I don’t want to say more than that about my private life, she then told Dagens Nyheter.

Two years ago, the couple bought a house together. And because of the pandemic and all the canceled events that followed, they have had time to settle in quite a bit.
– Just take this with corona. An opportunity has opened up to be able to spend a lot of time together. Last spring, I hoped until the very end that there would be some kind of competition ending. Instead, I got a very long leave when I would not otherwise have had the opportunity to spend so much time with him, she has previously told the newspaper.

Future dreams

Kalla has told us that she would more than like to have children in the future, but at the same time feels a concern about the whole thing. This is because of how hard she has pushed her body to achieve success on the ski slopes.
– It is not something you can take for granted, regardless of whether you are an elite athlete or not. This isn’t talked about much – but it’s more common than you think.
