Call of Duty has accompanied our author Maik Schneider for ages. Over the years, a small wishful thinking has developed. He’s always wanted to see his favorite killstreak fly, and Modern Warfare 2 grants his wish.
Killstreaks are the cherries on the Call of Duty sundae. Let’s not talk too much about the taste, slightly salty with a toxic note.
For good performance and kills in a row, the shooter pushes a few nasty war toys into my inventory – helpful reconnaissance drones, armored suits with radio reception, controllable mini-tanks with a bloodlust.
For years, however, the deployable automatic cannon has been my absolute favorite. For 7 kills without a death, I can put the thing anywhere on the map and take care of unwary enemies without lifting a finger.
For years this has kind of made me think of a little glitch – what if I could combine the turret with flying gadgets to convert the self-aiming turret into a flying deathbringer?
It’s finally possible in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
CoD MW2: Glitch lets the gun fly
What is this glitch? You can combine the Recon Drone field upgrade with the automatic turret. A few simple steps are enough and the actually down-to-earth device flies over the maps.
The following video shows how easy it is:
It’s just a little thing and a bug in the game. But somehow it makes me happy to see the flying gun. I can tick that off my list.
How strong is that? It’s a gimmick and gives you no real benefit. The VTOL jet is available with 8 kills in a row – it does the same thing, automatically targets opponents and flies over the map.
You don’t even have to control the VTOL, I put the gun in place manually.
In addition, the greatest advantage of the gun is lost. Because it will be destroyed when the recon drone runs out of fuel. Actually, the gun remains in its place for what feels like forever if it is not deliberately destroyed by the opponents.
It’s a glitch and a bit silly, but I still celebrate the flying gun in CoD MW2.
Do you have a similar story or a specific gadget you’d like to see in Call of Duty? Was the glitch there before and I just missed it? Leave a comment on the topic.
