At least ten people have died and at least 30 have been injured in a fire at the Grand Diamond City casino hotel in the Cambodian city of Poipet, near the border with Thailand.
Video footage shared online shows how the fire rages in the large complex and what appears to be people jumping from the building, writes AFP.
Over 50 injured have been admitted to hospitals in Thailand and 13 of them are receiving intensive care there, according to the medical management. According to the governor of Thailand’s Sa Kaeo Province, 79 Thais, 30 Cambodians and eight Indonesians have received treatment for their injuries in the fire. Thai fire brigades are participating in the rescue work, according to a source in the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The fire that started around midnight on Wednesday was still not out on Thursday morning. It is not known how it started, according to local police.
