A pioneer of Latin American folk music in the 1960s, the Chilean Violeta Parra inspired both Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and, more recently, the Swiss tenor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro. Himself a Chilean, this virtuoso of the lyrical voice pays homage to the ambassador of popular culture through a jazz album.
