Tribute album to Violeta Parra: “She managed to create a before and after”

Cover of the album

A pioneer of Latin American folk music in the 1960s, the Chilean Violeta Parra inspired both Bob Dylan and Joan Baez and, more recently, the Swiss tenor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro. Himself a Chilean, this virtuoso of the lyrical voice pays homage to the ambassador of popular culture through a jazz album. Meeting with the instigator of the project, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro, with an imposing and warm voice.

Conceived with the French pianist Thomas Enhco in the company of a flamenco singer and other exceptional musicians, Violeta y el jazz brings together ten poetic and committed titles by Violeta Parra, 55 years after her death.
