15-year-old is sentenced in the Supreme Court: A-tractor drunk is equated with drunk driving in a car

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The 15-year-old boy had over 0.5 per thousand in blood when the police in Varberg stopped him driving an A-tractor.

The verdict in both the district court and the court of appeal followed the prosecutor’s line and was assessed as gross drunk driving.

Tried in the Supreme Court

However, the defense argued that the A-tractor should be equated with a moped and that the boy’s behavior should therefore be regarded as drunk driving. The case was therefore sent to the Supreme Court for review, which SVT Nyheter Halland previously reported on.

Goes on the previous line

The Supreme Court follows the judgment of previous instances and states that driving drunk with an A-tractor is comparable to driving drunk in a car.

The 15-year-old boy is sentenced for aggravated drunken driving and 30 hours of youth service.
