During the night of Wednesday, the water was turned off in the Orrholmen district in Karlstad, the municipality writes on its website.
It was after a water leak that occurred in a property owned by Karlstads Bostadsbolag that all water supply had to be cut off, so that the error could be rectified.
It is unclear when the fault can be fixed and the water is back on. But in the meantime, the nearly 2,000 residents are asked not to use dishwashers or washing machines and to ensure that all faucets are properly turned off.
The municipality states that a water tank must be placed next to the “Orrholm garage” for those who need water.
