In the annual review, Steam shows you what your gaming year looked like on the popular gaming platform. On MeinMMO you can find out how you can see the review and what is in it.

The year 2022 is coming to an end – the perfect time to look back on the past 12 months and see how you have spent your time. For many gamers, along with family, work and other things, their hobby, gaming, was probably high on the list.

But what exactly did we play in 2022? The new CoD: Modern Warfare 2 or Elden Ring, the game of the year? The popular gaming platform Steam is now helping you to better classify your year with a review of the year.

One of the most popular games of the year was certainly Elden Ring, which even got its first expansion in 2022, which you can see in the following trailer:

What does Steam’s year in review tell you? The Steam review gives you some numbers about the games you played on Steam in 2022. This includes:

  • How many games and how many new games you played in 2022
  • your most played games
  • How many consecutive days you played on Steam (maximum and average)
  • Which genres you played how much (shown in a network diagram)
  • Which games you played how much in the individual months (shown in a bar chart)

    • The diagrams for the genres and the games of the individual months are particularly interesting if you want to classify your year 2022 more precisely.

    How do you see your year in review on Steam? If you want to see your Steam year in review, there are a couple of ways to do it. For example, when you open the Steam app on your PC, you may get a pop-up window that informs you about the review and that you can use to open it directly.

    If you don’t see the window or want to close it and still want to take a look at your year in review later, you can do so via the app or the browser version of Steam.

    To do this, log in with your Steam account and click on “New and Noteworthy” in the blue bar at the top of the Steam homepage. Now the list opens, in which you can also get to the special offers and the like. That list now has Steam Recap 2022 at the top. Click on it and your annual review will open.

    You can also open the review via the mobile app on your smartphone – the necessary steps differ only slightly from the desktop app: After you have logged in with your account, you will find the “Menu” item at the top of the start page. If you click on it there, you can “Select new and noteworthy” again and then go to “Steam 2022 Recap”.
