According to Public Health France, influenza activity is down in Ile-de-France, while it continues to progress in the south-east. Hospital activity for bronchiolitis is down, it, among infants.
We talk a lot about Covid-19, yet the flu epidemic has affected many patients too, since the beginning of January in France. In particular in the south-eastern region where it is still on the rise, according to Public Health France. In the other regions of France, activity is stable.
Post-epidemic for Ile-de-France, pre-epidemic for Corsica
In the Ile-de-France region, the indicators seem to be calming down and “continue to decline, after the region has moved into the post-epidemic phase”.
In contrast, in the last week of January, the numbers were “on the rise in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur and Corsica, which justified the passage of the latter into the pre-epidemic phase” explained Public Health France on February 2.
Still according to the health authority, two different strains of the flu virus are circulating: A (H1N1) and A (H3N2). Overseas too, the situation is stable in Guyana, in particular.

Falling figures for bronchiolitis
After an increase in hospitalizations for infants affected by bronchiolitis, who have little immunity to viruses due in particular to the various past confinements, the figures are falling again. “Public Health France observes a “continued drop in emergency room visits and hospitalizations following emergency room visits for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years old”.
