There is a fire in a chicken coop on a farm in Orsa, local media reports. The owners called about the fire at around 3 p.m. and tried to put it out themselves, but when the emergency services arrived, the building was already engulfed in flames.
– Flames shot out both through the roof and windows, says Nicole Schabo, team leader at SOS Alarm who is responsible for the Bergslagen region, to TT.
In the vicinity of the chicken barn, there are several other animal barns and log houses, according to SOS Alarm. The ten units that were alerted to the farm are now working to prevent the fire from spreading to them.
– This is done, among other things, by breaking open the roof and soaking around the chicken coop, says Nicole Schabo.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. It is unclear if there were any chickens in the building.
