In Congo, the 300 students of the Institute for young deaf people in Brazzaville now have a media library. It is a Christmas present from the association Les Jeunes cadres who inaugurated it on Saturday 24 December. The children of the Institute will thus have access to books but also to the computer tool intended for their training, with a view to their socio-professional integration.

The building that houses the media library is in the middle of the courtyard of the Institute for Deaf Youth where various drawings adorn the walls decorated with a fresco symbolizing a world without exclusion.
Thanks to this donation, the beneficiary students will have science books or novels at their fingertips, as well as the computer tool. ” We have planned to do training that will focus on coding, graphic design, entering Microsoft tools and many other tools that have a link with digital professions. “, explains Romaric Okira, vice-president of the association Les jeunes cadres.
First head of this NGO, Florian Koulimaya, says he is concerned about the socio-professional integration of young deaf people. ” We must offer multiple choices to these young people so that everyone can find themselves and flourish in what they can do in the future. “, he analyzes.
” We have a door that will open for them, in particular to communication and information, to allow them to live on the same footing as able-bodied people. “, rejoices Clotaire Bantsimba, director of rehabilitation at the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The media library also has a cultural space where students can learn disciplines such as theatre.
