Brother of man killed in hit and run pleads for driver to

The brother of a Hamilton man killed in a hit-and-run collision on a County of Brant road is pleading for the driver to come forward.

“A family is like a puzzle and we’re missing a piece,” said Dennis Taylor in a video posted on social media by County of Brant OPP. “What happened? That’s all we want to know. We don’t have that closure yet.”

Kevin Lee Taylor, 65, was killed on Sunday, Sept. 25 on Muir Road North, near 3rd Concession in Brant County. Police and Oxford EMS were called to the collision at about 1:20 am

Police say Taylor was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. They are looking for a Ford F-150 pickup truck with damage to the front right corner and missing a passenger mirror.

Dennis recalled receiving the call from police about his brother being killed.

“I didn’t say a word. I was just kind of dumbstruck. I just couldn’t believe it happened.”

Kevin Taylor was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy who was struggling with the loss of his wife.

In the video, his brother asked the driver to “do the right thing” and come forward.

“You didn’t stop. You didn’t make a phone call. You just ran away. You’ve got to do the right thing,” Dennis said.

“This isn’t going to get any better for you. If anything, you’re just prolonging the agony, not just for us. Wait until your family finds out.”

Police are asking anyone in the area of ​​Muir Road North, near 3rd Concession between midnight and 1 am on Sept. 25 to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
