At twelve o’clock there was an official Christmas blowing with Santa, song and dance on Stortorget in Malmö. Santa sang Christmas carols, the children danced and Carina Nilsson (S) summarized 2022 in the annual Christmas speech.
The Malmö tradition of bringing in Christmas with music dates back to the 18th century and since 2016 Spårvägens Musikkår Malmö has provided the music.
When the clock struck 12.00 on Christmas Eve, a few hundred expectant Christmas celebrants gathered to enjoy the opening.
