The girl was rushed to Östersund hospital in November with severe stomach pains and fever. She also vomited. Inside the emergency room, the doctor who saw the girl said she was constipated and he sent the girl and the parents home.
The next morning they went back to the emergency room. It turned out that the appendix was inflamed and had ruptured and the girl underwent emergency surgery. She was still cared for at Östersund Hospital, but her condition worsened. After barely two weeks, she was flown to Karolinska Hospital for surgery. There had been several adhesions in the abdomen.
Now the parents report the emergency room and children’s department at Östersund Hospital to IVO.
