Close to half, ten out of 21, of the country’s regions have one or more hospitals that have been put on staff mode due to the increased spread of covid-19, RS virus and influenza.
According to Sweden’s municipalities and regions (SKR), it is above all on the staffing side that the situation is strained, because the spread of infection is causing sickness absence among the staff to skyrocket. However, the situation is still assessed as manageable.
At the same time, the National Board of Health and Welfare states that in principle all regions have a strained health care situation.
