Top politicians in Trelleborg disagree about the fee decision

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

– It is my opinion that it is so, says Bingsgård to SVT Nyheter.

The decision in Trelleborg’s council on Monday became national news and the reactions were sometimes fierce over Ann Kajson Carlqvist’s fee increase of 75 percent in two years.

Sent out “clarification”

On Wednesday afternoon, the chairman of the remuneration committee in Trelleborg, Venzel Rosqvist (M), emailed a “clarification” to the media:

“The decision was made with the addition that the remuneration committee must return to the council in October next year regarding remuneration levels for 2024. Hence, the remuneration committee would like to clarify that there are no decided remuneration levels for 2024 and beyond as stated in the media.”

Increased parliamentary fees

The council’s chairman Ulf Bingsgård (L) confirms that the remuneration committee has been tasked with producing new calculations for 2024. This is because just before the council meeting it became known that the fees in the Riksdag will be calculated next year. Since the fees of Trelleborg politicians are linked to those of members of the Riksdag, the calculation must be redone.

– We start the work on the edge of spring and it is impossible to know today what level we will end up at, says Venzel Rosqvist to SVT Nyheter.

Ulf Bingsgård believes that the level is not intended to change significantly.

– The purpose has always been to arrive at the figures that had been calculated, but that the calculation basis may be different.

In the remuneration committee’s original proposal, Ann Kajson Carlqvist’s monthly remuneration in 2024 was to be equated with the municipal manager’s salary of SEK 125,000. That was also what the council decided on Monday, says Ulf Bingsgård.

Valid from January 2024

– Yes, I have not perceived any other claim there.

So it still applies that Ann Kajson Carlqvist should have SEK 125,000 a month from 1 January 2024?

– Yes exactly. It is my opinion that this is what we have decided on, says Ulf Bingsgård.
