Deadpool 3 won’t destroy the ending of the best Wolverine movie, promises Hugh Jackman

Deadpool 3 wont destroy the ending of the best Wolverine

It has been known for a few months: Hugh Jackman makes his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Deadpool 3 and returns as Wolverine. Many fans were overjoyed when Jackman and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds shared the good news. Nevertheless, some critical voices were raised.

The reason for this is Logan – The Wolverine. The conclusion of Jackman’s Wolverine trilogy is considered by many Marvel fans to be one of the best superhero movies at all. Last but not least, he gives his protagonist an extremely emotional finale that is thought through to the end. And that’s exactly what Deadpool 3 could undermine.

Hugh Jackman confirms: Deadpool 3 spares Logan – The Wolverine

At a time when major franchises are mostly concerned with bringing back well-loved characters, Logan – The Wolverine was a refreshing change. The film deliberately set an end point. Thankfully, Deadpool 3 won’t touch that end point, as Jackman reveals in an interview with SiriusXM.

Jackman speaks of one “device”, which allows Marvel to play with the different timelines. Even if he doesn’t say it, he probably means it the multiversewhich already benefited the cameo parades in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Jackman further explains:

Now we can go back because it’s ‘science’. So I didn’t have to tinker with the Logan timeline. That was very important to me – and I believe the fans too.

Whatever happens in Deadpool 3, Jackman and Reynolds won’t dent the legacy of Logan – The Wolverine. We’ll find out what story they tell instead by no later than November 6, 2024when the film hits theaters.
