FUEL ASSISTANCE. At the beginning of 2023, the new fuel aid of 100 euros will take over from the fuel discount of 10 euro cents per litre.
[Mis à jour le 21 décembre 2022 à 16h07] While the discount at the pump of 10 euro cents per liter purchased ends on December 31, 2022, the government wishes to continue its policy of supporting the most modest French people. In this sense, a new help fuel from 100 euro will be distributed from beginning of the year 2023. More targeted aid, intended for the 50% of the poorest households, i.e. 10 million people. For example, your reference tax income (RFR) 2021 must be less than or equal to 14,100 euros to hope to pocket this exceptional bonus. To claim it in 2023, nothing could be simpler. Visit the website of taxes to complete a form using your tax number, your license plate number and a sworn statement confirming that you are using your vehicle to go to work.
Fuel aid concerns the poorest 50% of French households, who need their vehicle to go to work. That’s 10 million people. The owners of two wheels will also be able to benefit from it, in the same way as the self-employed and civil servants. Electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are also part of the system.
This allowance is paid per person and not per household. Each member of a modest couple who uses their vehicle to go to their place of work will receive aid of 100 euros. The couple will therefore be able to benefit from 200 euros of fuel aid in 2023. To find out if you are eligible, here are the income limits put in place by the government to determine the beneficiaries of this exceptional aid:
- < 1,314 euros net/month for a single person
- < 3,285 euros net/month for a couple with one child
- < 3,285 euros net/month for a single person with two children
- < 3,941 euros net/month for a couple with two children
- < 5,255 euros net/month for a couple with three children
To benefit from this new fuel aid, it is necessary to fill out a form on the site impots.gouv.fr with :
- Your tax number
- Your license plate number
- A sworn statement that you use your vehicle to go to work
The aid is then paid directly, all at once, into the bank account, without any additional steps.
The fuel allowance is an amount of 100 euros for the year 2023. It can amount to 200 euros for a couple who works and owns 2 cars. This represents a gain of 10 euro cents, on average, for someone who travels 12,000 kilometers per year, the average French person.
As planned by the government, the fuel discount of 30 cents will drop to reach 10 euro cents from November 16 to December 31, 2022. The discount offered by Totalit goes from 20 centimes to 10 euro cents on the same schedule. These two aids will end on the January 1, 2023. This rebate concerns fishing diesel, non-road diesel (GNR), gasoline (SP95, SP98-E5, SP-95-E10), liquefied petroleum gas fuel (LPG-c), vehicle natural gas (CNG) under compressed (CNG) or liquefied (LNG) form, superethanol (E85) and diesel ethanol (ED95). Here are the dates to remember:
- Fitness 30 euro cents from September 1 to November 15, 2022
- Fitness 10 euro cents from November 16 to December 31, 2022
- Deleted from December 31, 2023
- New fuel aid : from January 1, 2023
