Twelve Sweden Democratic politicians in Scania’s Klippan are at risk of being expelled from the party after two ex-Nazis were voted into positions of trust in the municipality, reports SVT News Helsingborg.
The newspaper Expo revealed before the 2018 election that three people on the SD list in Klippan had previously been active Nazis. They were expelled from the party after the revelation, but still received local positions of trust as representatives of SD Klippan.
During the council meeting on Monday, two of them, Andreas Olofsson and Thomas Jelinek, were given more prominent posts after a vote. The two were voted in despite warnings from the party, both at national and district level. Now twelve Klippan politicians may be excluded from SD
“We can confirm that the persons concerned from SD Klippan are the subject of a case with the party’s membership committee. This may ultimately lead to exclusion from the party,” the party’s press department writes to SVT.
