Following the ban on girls from high school education in Afghanistan, they were also officially banned from going to university. Afghanistan Ministry of Higher Education Spokesperson Hafiz Zeiyaullah Hashimi announced the decision on his social media account. The decision, which was published addressing all public and private universities in Afghanistan, stated, “Based on the Council of Ministers’ decision, the education of girls has been suspended until the second order, please give assurance to the Ministry as soon as possible, including the implementation of the order.”
CAN ATTEND CLASSES
Before the decision, female students at universities could attend classes on the condition that they sit separately from male students and dress in accordance with certain dress code procedures. (DHA)
