Overlooking the Loire, the Amboise Castle was the first to introduce Italian taste to the Loire Valley under the impetus of Charles VIII, king born in Amboise before accidentally dying there 28 years later, banging his head against a lintel. His work will be continued by François I in the company of the genius Leonardo da Vinci, buried in the chapel of the castle.
