A Russian gas pipeline that transports gas from Russia to Europe has exploded, reports Reuters and refers to the Russian news agency RBC.

The pipeline, called Urengoi-Pomary-Uzhhorod, runs under Ukraine and the explosion is said to have occurred approximately 150 kilometers from the Russian city of Kazan, in the sub-republic of Chuvashia.

– Right now we don’t know much. Norwegian media write that it could be an accident, there must have been work going on at this place, says TV4 Nyhetern’s foreign commentator Elisabet Frerot.
