Three charged after police sixteen crossbow drugs during traffic stop

Three people face a combined 23 charges after police seized a crossbow and more than $50,000 in drugs and money during a traffic stop in Woodstock, police say.

Officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of ​​Blossom Park Road and Devonshire Avenue in the city’s north end early Monday, Woodstock police said.

Police said an investigation led to the arrest of the driver and two passengers.

Investigators seized $48.00 in suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and hydromorphone, more than $4,000 in Canadian currency and a crossbow, police said.

A 31-year-old from Ingersoll, a 41-year-old from Woodstock and a 36-year-old face a total of 23 charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, multiple counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime, among others.

The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
