After five films, the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean series is still unclear. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently spoke about the fact that there should be two finished scripts. Johnny Depp is probably not a part in either version so far.
If it’s up to the producer the star can still return to the Disney franchise at any time. But the decision is up to the studio.

Pirates of the Caribbean producer wants Johnny Depp back
In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Bruckheimer is also asked if Disney Depp after his trial with Amber Heard would cast as a star again. The producer says:
you have to ask her I can not answer this question. I really do not know it. I would like to have him in the film. He’s a friend, a great actor, and it’s unfortunate that privacy creeps into everythingwhat we do.
For Bruckheimer it is also clear that Pirates of the Caribbean can hardly exist without Jack Sparrow. When asked by the Hollywood Reporter if he would kill the iconic figure when he returned, he said clearly:
You can not. We tried to kill him. It did not work.
There are said to be two scripts for a new Pirates of the Caribbean film. One of these will be called Ensemble part with many different figures described. A second script is to revolve around a new female character, the written for Margot Robbie would. It remains questionable whether Disney will bring Depp back first. It would turn the future of the series upside down.
