PROVINCE OF UTRECHT – On Monday, ProRail has too few staff at the traffic control post in Utrecht and as a result, fewer trains will run on several routes that day from early in the morning until about 3 p.m., ProRail tweeted.

Previously, there was talk of “from 7 a.m.”, but later the company added that on some routes, trains do not run before 7 a.m. “And there may still be some nuisance after 3 p.m.. Check the travel planner carefully for current travel information,” advises ProRail.

Staff shortage due to corona

The NS previously announced that fewer trains will run from Monday due to staff shortages due to corona. The timetable will therefore be scaled down in steps in the coming weeks.

The NS wants to have implemented all the changes by 21 February. From that date, 85 percent of all NS trains will run. On routes where six trains per hour were running last week, the scale will be reduced to four. On routes with four trains per hour, that will be two.

Due to the shortage at the traffic control post in Utrecht, fewer trains will run on Monday between 07:00 and 15:00 on the Eindhoven – Amsterdam, The Hague – Amersfoort, Alphen aan den Rijn – Houten and Rotterdam – Arnhem routes, NS reports. The spokeswoman advises train passengers to consult the journey planner before departure for the current situation.
