A series of deficiencies have been discovered at a dental clinic in Västerås, which is now losing its state dental support. This is reported by local media.

It is Försäkringskassan that reviewed the clinic’s granted dental care support, which is paid out retroactively to receptions and which is supposed to discount costs for patients.

According to P4 Västmanland, the authority has carried out 62 subsequent inspections of Västeråskliniken and decided on refunds in 48 of the cases, corresponding to just over SEK 1.1 million.

Försäkringskassan assesses that the clinic “seriously disregarded” its obligations, as it, among other things, applied for support for the extraction of teeth that patients were already missing. The clinic has also had problems presenting documentation of several patients’ payments.

“It has been a question of repeated errors that have been going on for a long time and have not been corrected despite information from the Social Insurance Agency in every decision made. The amount of inaccuracies for which you were responsible is considered to constitute a serious disregard of the regulations on the state dental care support,” writes the authority in its decision to the clinic, according to VLT.

As a result of the shortcomings, the clinic is now excluded from the state support system, which means that patients can no longer benefit from subsidized prices at the reception.
