Here is the year’s best gingerbread house – the competition is over

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

141 different types of gingerbread houses are on display at the Architecture and Design Center’s museum. Some are big, others are small, but Mr. Nilsson only has houses. The audience’s prize went to the gingerbread version of Villa Villekulla.

In addition to the audience award, a jury awarded prizes in three categories, “Architects, Bakers and Designers”, “Up to 12 years” and “All other bakers”.

Landscape architect Molly Owen was awarded in the “Architects, Bakers and Designers” category for her creation of a waterfall

– Around the corner is a good theme because I think that nature reflects the unexpected that happens in life, like a waterfall. Sometimes it’s calm, sometimes it’s stormy.

What was the hardest part of building a gingerbread house?

– The hardest part is the actual baking because it’s really not my thing, says Molly Owens.
