Spirit of Ecstasy, an integral part of Rolls-Royce cars, has been reinterpreted for the aerodynamic criteria of electric cars.
Continuing the development process of its first electric model, Specter, Rolls-Royce is among the names that we are eagerly waiting for the dynamics it will bring to the market due to the segment it is in. Working hard to integrate the standards it has created into electrification, the brand has revised a very important symbol that has made its history in this context. Spirit of Ecstasy, which has been an indispensable part of Rolls-Royce cars for over 100 years, is witnessing changes within the framework of the aerodynamic criteria of electric models. We see that the new mascot, which has been brought closer to the drawings made by illustrator and sculptor Charles Sykes in the first years of the 20th century, has regressed in height.

How does the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy differ with its new form?
The new mascot’s height of 82.73 mm will be felt at first glance, compared to 100.01 millimeters on models currently on sale. On the design side, the model, which has been revised, was previously standing with its feet together, legs straight and bent towards the waist. Now, a structure drawn in a way that is prepared for the wind, with one leg forward and the body positioned below, awaits us. It is noteworthy in the shared details that the new version, which we saw created after 830 hours of modeling, helped to increase the aerodynamic properties of Specter in wind tunnel tests. Specter, which shared a friction coefficient of 0.26 cd in early prototypes, will bring with it the most aerodynamic car badge the brand has ever produced, if it is carried into production with these dynamics. With the comprehensive test protocols to be carried out this year, the possibility of further lowering of the value is on the table.
