[Mis à jour le 17 décembre 2022 à 20h40] Reunion had an appointment on August 27 to vote and elect its regional miss ahead of the Miss France 2023 contest. In Saint-Denis, the public and the jury together decided to give the scarf and the crown to Marion Marimoutou, an 18-year-old who now embodies all their hopes for the national beauty pageant. During a sabbatical year, she intends to embark on a university course in the social sciences with a view to becoming a professor of economics and social sciences at both university and high school.

Miss Reunion 2022 succeeds Dana Virin, the sixth runner-up Miss France 2022. Since Valérie Bègue’s victory in 2008, the island has not received a crown and the young woman wishes to remedy this and thus make her region proud. It is however already done since the young woman full of humor and very sporty is also the ambassador of an association “smile of the child” which colors the daily life of sick and handicapped children. So, a Miss France 2023 crown and scarf for Marion Marimoutu? Answer on December 17!

If Marion Marimoutou became Miss Reunion, she owes it in part to her big sister who is an example for her. If she was planning to present herself to Miss France, she unfortunately could not do so because of her size, which was considered too small to meet the criteria in place. “She participated in many elections but could not make Miss France because she was missing two centimeters” she explains to TV Mag. In fact, Marion Marimoutou found a model in her big sister and followed suit. “When I was little, I always accompanied her in her shoots and fashion shows and it quickly became a passion for me. I took part in my first fashion show when I was in sixth grade and my first shoot when I was very young. I did all this in order to prepare for Miss Reunion. It was always a dream of a little girl.”
