The three judges gave the score 10-9 to Brækhus in all six rounds. Overall, Cecilia Brækhus won 60-54.
Brækhus has not won a match since she lost to Jessica McCaskill last March.
Ahead of the match in Los Angeles, Brækhus has gone back to her former coach and she has been to training camps in Los Angeles, Detroit and Dubai. She has also moved up a weight class to super welterweight after boxing at welterweight her entire career.
Of his 39 matches as a professional boxer, the 41-year-old from Bergen has only lost two. Nine of the wins have been by knock out.
