Best Price Performance Phones 2022

Samsung The Galaxy A Series brings together affordable phones with flagship-like features. If you’re looking for an inexpensive Android phone with a lot of features, the Samsung Galaxy A32 is for you. With excellent battery life, solid performance, and years of promised Android upgrades and security updates, it defies the competition. Low resolution screen aside, Galaxy A32 5GThere is very little to dislike about; If you’re looking for a great budget phone, we recommend checking out our Galaxy A32 review.

Design

Starting with the design, the Galaxy A32 is Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S21 It has a look that takes some inspiration from the series. And the updated camera unit is the end of the year for Samsung smartphones. Besides that, we can see a similar camera sensor placement. It stands out from the three relatively large camera sensors, the smaller macro lens and the LED flash on the side.

This is a mid-range Samsung phone, so of course the back is made of plastic, while the screen sits flat. The firm has gone for a more rectangular design here. While Samsung has tried to give the Galaxy A32’s frame a metallic feel, it’s also made of plastic.

There is no reflective pattern or other decoration on the back – we like the simplicity of it after seeing many smartphones with fancy backs. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t look good. Also, the back easily picks up fingerprint smudges and light scratches. Therefore, it may not be suitable for those who are a little fussy about it. In the same way, although the phone has a large battery of 5000mAh, it does not feel heavy in the hand.

Screen

The only thing we don’t like about this display is the notch. It doesn’t affect anything about the device and it just looks old. The rest of the screen is great. It’s a 90Hz Super AMOLED panel, so there’s stunning colours, true blacks. In fact, this phone is one of the few devices to hit 800nit at this price point. Thus, your outdoor use will not be troublesome. And if you watch something on your phone, you’ll love the experience here. (As with many devices at this price point, the speakers aren’t that great).

For those who hate massive devices, this is a good middle ground. At 6.4 inches you might think it’s huge, but it’s not. The weight, reduced bezels and being quite thin give it the feel of a compact phone. It will fit well in most hands.

Like the previous generation A31, the Galaxy A32 has an in-display fingerprint scanner. It’s not very fast and therefore it takes a second to unlock the device.

Performance and Hardware

Galaxy A32 receives MediaTek Helio G80 processor with 2+6 configuration running at 2.0 GHz and 1.8 GHz respectively. It has a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU that handles the graphics processing task. Apparently, you don’t have the storage options, but you do get a single 6GB+128GB variant, which is still great as you have a microSD card slot (hybrid) to expand the storage to 1TB.

Speaking of performance, the processor isn’t very good, to be honest. Galaxy A32 gets an upgrade over Galaxy A31, but Vivo V20, Realme 7 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro lags behind almost all of its competitors, including

Its single-core and multi-core tests in Geekbench 5 reveal the same story due to the overwhelming processor. Samsung could use newer Dimensity processor or switch to better Snapdragon processors, but this Samsung is shipping a phone with Exynos processor instead of Snapdragon model.

In any case, the phone handles everything with ease, despite the processor’s capacity. Some lag here, missed frames while playing games etc. you might notice, but overall it performs properly. Still, having a Snapdragon processor could have made quite a difference.

Camera

Galaxy A32 comes with quad rear cameras and single front camera. The rear camera consists of 64 MP wide lens, 8 MP ultra wide lens, 5 MP macro lens and 5 MP depth lens. Overall, the lens setup ensures that the A32 takes decent photos.

By using portrait mode, you can capture images with bokeh effect in the background. You can zoom up to 10X using the 64MP lens. At 2.0X you still get good details, but when you get to 4X or 10X you lose detail and the image becomes grainy.

The main camera takes decent photos. It’s a good thing Samsung has lowered the saturation. So the colors look real. Dynamic range is also good and you’ll be able to take good landscape photos when it’s bright outside.

There is a night mode but it’s a bit annoying. It sometimes takes forever to process and the phone can sometimes force stop the camera. But when you succeed, the result can be quite good.

Samsung has done nothing to prevent the distortion and you can see a huge color shift between the main sensor and the wide-angle sensor. If it does, you won’t be taking too many pictures with this sensor.

Similarly, the remaining two sensors are just there for show. These are the 5MP depth sensor and the 2MP macro sensor. The selfie camera is also good. You can rely on different conditions and still get a respectable image.

Battery and Charger

The 5,000mAh battery inside the Galaxy A32 is good for two days of light use and will last until your bedtime even with heavy use. This averages two-day stamina both with high refresh rate enabled and disabled, so it’s pretty impressive. Which is also a good thing because this phone takes a long time to charge.

15W charging is no longer considered fast despite Samsung’s insistence, and you’re looking at almost two and a half hours to fully charge the battery from 0. If you want faster charging, one of the latest Galaxy M series phones — like the Galaxy M31s or Galaxy M51 — is your best bet.

Phone Pros and Cons

  • Large Gorilla Glass 5 protected display
  • Impressive cameras
  • stylish design
  • The back is not very strong.
  • There is a heating problem
  • Not fast charging

Can it be bought?

Samsung has accomplished a lot with the Galaxy A32. The introduction of the 90Hz AMOLED panel in this category shows that Samsung is serious about bringing high refresh rate technology to affordable devices, and the 64MP camera is also a great new addition. You also get a great looking phone and brilliant software running the latest Android with guaranteed updates.

But as always, there are downsides. The Galaxy A32 doesn’t quite measure up to its rivals in terms of performance, and 15W fast charging doesn’t cut it, especially in this segment. There’s also the fact that the 5G version of the Galaxy A32 is missing the 90Hz AMOLED panel and 64MP camera, which are two of the biggest changes this generation. The shortcomings make the regular 4G variant of the Galaxy A32 a better overall choice in 2021.
