Pesticides that blow over organic farms have become a problem in Scania. Voices are now being raised for the use of the agent Prosulfocarb to be limited.
– It is a serious problem to throw away food at all and that it must be because the neighbor sprays his crops, says Karin Lexén, who is secretary general at the Nature Conservation Association.
And the Swedish Agricultural Agency is taking measures to get the country’s farmers to comply with the rules. The Swedish Chemicals Agency has banned spraying during the day and introduced a rule of at least 500 meters away from commercial cultivations. But as the problem persists, the authority has recently tightened the requirements further.
