22-year-old Nadia Amine is the most watched Call of Duty streamer on Twitch. Now she got her first ban for sharing a viewer’s name on the stream. The MMORPG streamer Asmongold does not go far enough, he criticizes Twitch.
Who is the streamer? Nadia Amine, who only appears on Twitch under her first name, is the most watched CoD streamer by viewer hours. In the last 7 days, she’s ranked 8th among all Call of Duty: Warzone 2 streamers worldwide (via sullygnome).
But Nadia’s success is controversial: the streamer has been fighting allegations of cheating for months. Now the situation came to a head. Nadia shared the name of a viewer on her stream who wished her happy cheating and received a ban for doing so.
Streamer defends herself against cheating allegations and is banned
What was that ban? On December 15, Nadia was banned from Twitch for 14 days. For the streamer it is the first ban. The reasons were initially unknown. Nadia herself only shared that she was banned for sharing personal information, whatever that means.
Why was Nadia banned? It is now known that Nadia received the ban because she shared a viewer’s real name in her stream. The 22-year-old explained that she often receives donations of more than $ 1, which would be accompanied by a hate message.
In this case, a viewer who went by the name “Daddyslayer” donated a dollar and wrote “enjoy cheating”. However, what viewers don’t know, Nadia says, is that Paypal shows her the full names of her donors.
Nadia took the opportunity to thank the viewer for his donation – repeatedly using his real name and urging him to do something else with his time.
Whatever your reason for doing this, I hope you find the time to do something with your damn life. ‘Cause now you look like a fucking idiot.
The Warzone Part 2 YouTube channel shared the clip in question, with the viewer’s name censored.
Of the estimated 14 days, however, Nadia did not have to sit out a whole day: the streamer was unlocked after just 6 hours. This is now leading to heated discussions, with many calling for harsher punishment. Larger content creators are also getting involved.

What is the discussion like? The ban and its lifting are hotly debated on Twitter. Nadia’s supporters believe the streamer was not at fault. Finally, many people would voluntarily post their full names on Twitch (via Twitter).
Others consider the length of the ban to be disproportionate: content creators would be banned for less than Nadia for sexually explicit acts. Twitch’s ban policy has long been criticized, with a Twitter user saying blocking on the platform is completely arbitrary (via Twitter).
However, critics see doxing in Nadia’s action and thus a very clear offense that should be punished more severely.
This can be the full name, but also more detailed information such as the address, contact details or even financial information. The goal is most often to embarrass, threaten, or otherwise harm victims (via police counseling).
Doxing can be used specifically against political or personal opponents and can even be punishable under certain circumstances, depending on how you got the information and what the consequences are (via AVG).
What does Asmongold say? MMORPG streamer Asmongold also commented on a Twitter post by journalist Jake Lucky about Nadia’s ban. He’s one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, but he’s not afraid to slam the platform.
Asmongold said he saw the clip. For him there is no question that Nadia should be permanently blocked. It’s amazing that Twitch would have any trouble making the decision at all.
What’s next? Asmongold apparently intends to resolve the matter himself: in one stream, he urged his community to report Nadia’s channel so that she would be banned for at least a few months (via Twitch).
Currently, Nadia’s channel is not blocked, but she has not been online since the incident.
Twitch’s ban policy is considered opaque. It is not always clear what triggers a ban. Viewers and streamers often fail to understand the relationship between the severity of the offense and the length of the ban. The biggest political streamer on the platform was recently hit:
