The Swedish national biathlon team is in France for this weekend’s World Cup competition.
Then Stina Nilsson reveals her worried thoughts before.
– I absolutely see that there can be challenges, she tells Sportbladet.
Right now, the Swedish national biathlon team is in Annecy, France, for another World Cup competition. Already on Thursday, the races started with the men’s sprint and then continue over the weekend.
Stina admits
At the same time, France has made it all the way to the World Cup final, which will be played on Sunday. And that can lead to big problems for the Swedish biathletes, because already during Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final, they were affected by the French’s jubilation.
– It was definitely noticeable that France went to the final of the football World Cup. There was quite a lot of buzz around our hotel yesterday, so we took that with us. And it probably won’t be less on Sunday, admits Stina Nilsson for Sportbladet.

But the Swede chooses to see the joy in it all and was still not affected so much by the celebrating French in the night.
– I was quite quick to put on my headphones. It was obviously a celebration with many happy people and I have nothing against that, says Nilsson to the evening newspaper.

On Sunday, however, there will be bigger problems for the biathletes as the WC final will be played at 16:00. Shortly after the women’s mass start race has ended and it causes trouble for the Swedes.
– I don’t feel worried, but I absolutely see that there may be challenges along the way, says Stina in the interview and gets the support of her teammate Hanna Öberg.
– I hope we will be able to get out of Le Grand Bornard without it being a total party everywhere, she says.

On Friday, the women’s first race took place in Annecy when there was a sprint on the schedule. There was a Swedish giant scare when Anna Magnusson won the first World Cup race of his career after a performance race and his teammate Lynn Persson took a very nice second place.
For Stina Nilsson, it wasn’t even a top 50 ranking after two misses on the shooting range.
