Facts: The stars’ three favorite Christmas movies
Alexandra Rapaport:
+ “Fanny & Alexander” (1982).
– I love it. But I get sick to my stomach every time I see it. It’s the ultimate Christmas spirit.
+ “Love actually” (2003).
— I can watch it as many times as I want. It is cozy and fun.
+ “A pear for dad celebrates Christmas” (1989).
— It’s nostalgia. But now you reveal that you are too old (laughs).
Walter Skarsgård:
+ “Die Hard” (1988)
— It’s clear that it’s a Christmas movie! The whole movie is about it taking place on Christmas Eve.
+ “Love actually” (2003).
— I always thought it was cozy when I was little.
+ The Harry Potter films (eight pieces, 2001–2011).
— Some Harry Potter films can feel very cheesy, I think.
A bunch of people who don’t know each other get stuck at an airport in Oslo the night before Christmas Eve and just want to go home. But it doesn’t work, because the big Christmas storm moves in over Norway and no planes can take off.
That is the premise of “Julstormen”, Netflix’s big Nordic Christmas series with the Swedes Hanna Ardéhn, Alexandra Rapaport and Valter Skarsgård in some of the roles. The six-part series will be released on December 16.
The stranded passengers and airport ground staff all turn out to have their fair share of problems, but since it’s a feel-good series at Christmas time, you have a feeling things will work out.

Alexandra Rapaport thinks that this type of series is needed, especially this year.
— We have this financial stress and I think that many people live with a knife to their throat. What a vile, vile Christmas many will have. Then you can see this as a bit of cozy entertainment, she says.
Alexandra Rapaport plays Bobbie, a star lawyer on her way to London who can’t accept being stranded in Oslo.
— She is stressed and rude, before you get to know her a little more. At the end, you actually get a small glimpse that there is something behind it, and then the portrait becomes a little more forgiving, she says.
Almost the entire series is recorded on location, at Gardemoen Airport in Oslo, which during the filming was for obvious reasons less used than normal.

— It was delicious to record at an airport. It was such a special place to be. Then it was still covid so it was quite calm at the airport, explains Alexandra Rapaport.
“Nice feeling”
Valter Skarsgård plays the baggage handler Henrik, who has to take care of a dog during the storm.
He has an explanation for why Christmas movies and series are so popular.
— They capture the feeling that many want to achieve at Christmas, but which you may not always be able to do. It is comfortable and cozy and feel good. It’s a wonderful feeling that things always go in the direction you want.
He took the role of Henrik in order to work with the director Per-Olav Sørensen again. They worked together in the Netflix series “The playlist” where Valter Skarsgård had a supporting role.
— I received an Instagram message in the middle of the night from PO, who asked if I could join. And I wanted to and that was it. It was that simple.
