Volkswagen will solve the range problem with new infrastructure

Volkswagen, which will launch future technologies in electric cars through Project Trinity, which we have been waiting to introduce for a long time, also wants to eliminate the “Range” criterion, which users see as the biggest problem in the market. The brand, which offers solutions in almost every segment with the product range it has created in a short time under the ID badge, has postponed its calendar a little for now, due to the impact of the supply crises. Although we have to wait a little longer for Trinity, the first details about the new infrastructure architecture that the brand is prepared for are now on the table. VW, which wants to take the MEB platform, which is the basis of the models it currently offers, one step higher, draws attention with the aim of reflecting the range increase of almost 50 percent to the streets in this transition.

Volkswagen models will become much more capable with MEB+

The Volkswagen front, which is preparing to update the name of the infrastructure as MEB + in the new era electric cars, will not limit this innovation to just the name. In addition to much better range values, we can say that models with higher capacity fast charging support are waiting for us. At this point, according to the first information appearing on the table, there are rides where range values ​​of up to 700 kilometers can be seen in high-end models with MEB+ infrastructure. Support on the fast charging side will be increased from 135 kW to 200 kW. Thanks to the wide usage capability of the new platform, it will also provide a significant advantage to all members of the group, as it supports different types of models from entry-level flagships. One of the most curious points here is what kind of changes will occur in the prices of the vehicles with the MEB+. Volkswagen is preparing to include this infrastructure in its new model, which will be located at the entry level of the family, with a price of $ 25,000. The cells in the batteries that will be integrated into the updated platform will most likely come with a higher energy density. This may allow us to see better range values ​​in more compact packages.
