FARaway Festival in Reims Aalehom by Alexandre Paulikevitch

In Reims, the FARaway festival ends this Sunday, February 6. An edition that honored the Lebanese scene in all its forms. Among the pieces programmed, the danced solo by Alexandre Paulikevitch, A’alehom was one of the highlights of the festival.

Since its inception, the artist has defended the Egyptian baladi dance, commonly known as belly dancing. A’alehom is a piece he created after the Beirut port disaster (he lost his house in the explosion) and the aborted Lebanese revolution.

Alexandre Paulikevitch now lives in the mountains in Lebanon where he created his latest piece.

After the FARaway festival, the artist is tonight on the Mucem stage in Marseille with the Lebanese musician Zeid Hamdan in particular.
