Halima, 26, became pregnant last year, and the ultrasound showed a total of seven fetuses. Then she had to go to a specialist clinic in Morocco – but when she gave birth, it turned out that she was carrying nine children.
The 26-year-old’s case is unique in the world. There are other cases where a person gave birth to nine children, but where not all survived.
Now, a year and a half later, Halima has come home to her native Mali. Once there, she was greeted by the Minister of Health.
– Our congratulations also go to the Moroccans, who made sure everything went well. Everyone can see that the children are doing well and we wish them a long life, says Diéminatou Sangaré.

– These children are not just mine. They are the children of Mali, the children of Africa and the children of the whole world. It is a very strong feeling.
