ENERGY WOOD CHECK. Some French heating with wood will benefit from a new bonus before the end of the year. It can be claimed from December 22.

[Mis à jour le 13 décembre 2022 à 14h45] To cope with the rising prices of pellets and firewood heater, exceptional aid of 50 to 200 euros will be paid, subject to means testing, to households that use wood for heating. This “wood energy” check can be requested from 22 December on the site of the energy check. You will need to enter your electronic filer tax number and send your invoice.

Adopted by Parliament, this aid of 230 million euros for households heating with wood is included in the amended finance law of 1 December 2022 for 2022. The check is sent to households whose reference tax income annual per consumption unit is strictly less than 20,000 euros. This is why the government wishes to act to allow the most modest households to heat themselves properly this winter. This aid concerns both households heating with logsor some pellet (granules). To benefit from the wood energy check, only an income condition prevails. Your remuneration must not exceed €2,260 per month for a single person, and €4,750 per month for a couple with two dependent children.

The amount of the brand new wood energy check for French people heating with wood will be included between 50 euros and 200 euros depending on your level of income. To receive this cheque, your salary must be less than €2,260 for a single person, and less than €4,750 for a couple with two children.

Do you heat with pellets? The check will be 200 euro, if you are from the most modest households. If you are in the higher category, the check will be 100 euros. If you heat yourself with logs, the aid will be 100 euros for the most modest, and 50 euros for other income brackets, within the limit of the fixed ceiling.
