Since 2014, more than 11,000 children have been confirmed killed or maimed in Yemen’s civil war, according to the United Nations.
“Thousands of children have lost their lives, hundreds of thousands more are at risk of dying from preventable diseases or starvation,” says Unicef director Catherine Russell.
About 2.2 million children are acutely malnourished, a quarter of whom are under the age of five and are extremely vulnerable to cholera, measles or other vaccine-preventable diseases.
