Leif Torrisen, 93, in Bodø in northern Norway starts decorating his house with thousands of brilliant Christmas decorations as early as October. It was after his wife passed away that his Christmas decorating took off in earnest. But he is unsure of how many lamps are actually involved.
– I have no idea. But there are many, says Leif Torrisen.
The house has become a local attraction that people make pilgrimages to as Christmas approaches.
– When you are 93 years old, you are usually a burden on society. But if I can do something positive for the residents of Bodø, that’s good, he says.
