Johansson is suspended for the next two SHL rounds for “physical abuse of officials”.
It was in Saturday’s 3-4 loss against Frölunda that the FBK captain got annoyed with Joel Lundqvist, grabbed the Frölunda player’s stick and threw it at him – but instead he hit the linesman on the arm.
The Swedish Ice Hockey Association’s disciplinary board justifies the decision in the following way, among other things:
“There has been a concrete risk that the judge could meet. It is the board’s opinion that Linus Johansson has thereby, in any case, shown an obvious indifference to the fact that the judge could meet,” the decision states.
