Large demonstration against the regime in Iran in central Stockholm

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

During Saturday, a large demonstration against the Iranian regime was organized in central Stockholm.

More than 1,000 people gathered at Norra Bantorget in Stockholm to show support for the Iranian people’s fight for democracy and freedom and demand that Sweden and the EU act to protect human rights. Member of Parliament Alireza Akhondi (C) is one of those behind the demonstration.

The protests in Iran took off after 22-year-old Mahsa Jina Amini died after being abducted by the morality police, who had objected to the way she wore her veil.

During the week, news also came that 23-year-old Mohsen was executed in Iran, convicted of blocking a street and injuring a person from a volunteer militia. It is the first known execution in the wake of the nationwide protests.
