One person injured after apartment fire

An apartment is burnt out after a fire in Ydre municipality, reports P4 Östergötland.
– There were flames coming out of the window and heavy smoke, says operations manager Jon Forsärla to the radio.
The fire spread to the eaves but is now known to be extinguished.
– The apartment is uninhabitable right now, there are possibly other affected apartments due to the smoke, says a line operator at the rescue service.
One person is affected.

Shortage of staff on the commuter trains – traffic is greatly reduced
SL greatly reduces commuter train departures on Saturday, reports P4 Uppland.
– The information we have right now is that the traffic will be affected at least throughout the weekend, says Helene Jakobsson, press spokesperson at SL.
None of SL’s trains will stop at Arlanda central between 10:10 and 22:15.
– Yesterday in regular traffic, there were 30 percent fewer departures.
MTR runs the commuter trains on behalf of SL, and they are understaffed.
– Basically, it is the national train driver shortage. But we have increased sick leave in combination with the fact that we had a number of postponed vacations that are now taken, says Rebecca Lundin who is the press spokesperson at MTR.
SL urges travelers to search for their journey well in advance and says that trains can be canceled at short notice. If you are more than 20 minutes late due to canceled or delayed SL traffic, you can get delay compensation.
Alarm for skidding snowmobiles
Several passenger cars and snowmobiles have skidded around in the snow in Dalarna.
– When it is passed around, many people think that it is an innocent activity. But skidding is, by definition, not having control over the vehicle, says Lars Hedelin, press spokesperson at the Bergslagen police region.
On their website, the police write that they received several calls about “bus driving” during the night of Saturday.
– A whistleblower who was extremely upset. Snowmobiles had then driven without lighting and without helmets. Then you pose a danger both to yourself and to others.
One death in a house fire
One person has died in a house fire in Vindeln municipality.
Relatives have been notified.
SOS was alerted to the fire on Friday evening and two people are said to have been in the villa at the time. One person has been taken to hospital with unclear injuries. The other person was found dead in the house.
The police do not suspect any crime in connection with the fire.
Man robbed – perpetrator disappeared in taxi
A man in his 40s has been robbed in central Gothenburg.
A man who said he had a gun allegedly forced the other man to withdraw money for him through an ATM.
In connection with that, the robber also allegedly punched the man in the face.
The perpetrator is said to have then taken a taxi from the scene. He has not yet been arrested.
Several car fires in southern Stockholm
Three car fires in thirty minutes. At 02.31 the police were alerted to Fruängen, south of Stockholm, where a car had been completely burnt out and several others had suffered smoke damage.
– We have started a preliminary investigation regarding arson. It is to investigate it as a serious crime and to have the right toolbox, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson at the Stockholm police region.
Twenty minutes later, another car fire is called in the neighboring town of Mälarhöjden. Two cars were damaged in the fire.
It was only ten minutes before the next car fire alarm came. Again in a neighboring town, Bredäng.
– Both in time and geography, it’s so close to each other. So of course we investigate whether there is a connection. We suspect that there is.
The police have cordoned off areas in connection with the car fires.
Man robbed of his car
A man in his 40s has been robbed in his car in Borås.
The man was out driving around 11.30pm when he was stopped by several people. The people are said to have threatened the car and then driven away from the scene.
So far, no one has been arrested.
Large increase in RS cases
The number of children who are infected by the RS virus and need hospital care is increasing sharply throughout the country, reports say P4 Gothenburg.
At Östra sjukhuset in Gothenburg, there have been more child patients than there are places than there are care places.
– Admitted to the hospital, we have between 10-15 children with RS infections per day for the past week. There are more people every day who apply to the emergency room, and we think there will be more, says Katrin Adrian, chief physician at the children’s emergency room.
She also urges parents of newborn children and others in risk groups to be careful to reduce infection.
– Avoid meeting other people with colds, and keep children with colds home from preschool, she says.
Thousands of pensioners have lost their premium pension
3,300 Swedish pensioners have had their premium pension deleted, reports Sweden’s Radio Echo.
This is because they had their money in Russian funds which have now become worthless.
The Moscow Stock Exchange closed just days after Russia invaded Ukraine.
A further 24,000 Swedish pensioners are expected to have their premium pension written down because of this.
Lack of train drivers – companies cancel trains
MTR, which runs Mälartåg, and SJ will cancel several departures in the new timetable from December 11.
The reason is that there is a lack of train drivers, reports say Sweden’s Radio Echo.
– We are working hard to get enough train drivers to get back to the level that passengers want, says Joakim Sundh, CEO MTR Mälardalen.
SJ and MTR state that they have a plan for how they will be able to gradually increase traffic again.
Hundreds of Ukrainians are denied Danish residence permits
426 Ukrainians have so far been denied a residence permit in Denmark, reports TV2.
The reason is that the people left Ukraine too early, before the war broke out.
Until March, Ukrainians who fled after February 24 could get a residence permit in Denmark.
The law was later changed to apply from 1 February – but many Ukrainians have been refused to stay despite this.
The Danish Migration Agency has so far determined 131 refusals for Ukrainians.
Texas Bans Tiktok on State Drives
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered Tiktok to be banned from all state agencies, reports say The Guardian.
He cites security concerns when it comes to the app’s data sharing with the Chinese government.
“Tiktok collects large amounts of data from its users’ devices – including when, where and how they are active on the Internet – and offers this amount of potentially sensitive information to the Chinese government,” reads one of the letters the governor sent to a government agency .
Several other Republican lawmakers across the country have introduced similar Tiktok bans.
South Dakota, Maryland and Wisconsin have also issued similar directives citing safety concerns.
