Famous sports journalist dead in Qatar
Journalist Grant Wahl has died in Qatar, his brother announced on Twitter.
– He collapsed in the stadium, was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation and was driven with an Uber to the hospital and died, says the brother in the post.
The news of his death comes just weeks after he attracted attention after he was denied entry to the USA v Wales match because he was wearing a rainbow shirt.

France will offer free condoms to everyone under 25 starting next year, the country’s President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday, writes the AP news agency.
According to the French government, the number of venereal diseases is rising and inflation is also reducing the margins for those who are already strapped for money.
Initially, free condoms were only to be offered to those aged 18-25, but after criticism that the proposal did not include minors, the president changed his mind.
“We’re working on it,” he said in a self-recorded video and later elaborated on Twitter:
“Many minors have sex…they also need to be able to protect themselves”
EU summit is closed
The vice-president of the European Parliament, the Greek Eva Kaili, is suspended from her party group after the Belgian police opened an investigation into a suspected bribery.
Social democratic S&D tweets late on Friday evening that Kaili is suspended “with immediate effect, in response to the ongoing investigations”.
The public prosecutor’s office in Belgium states that a “third party” paid with gifts and large sums of money to gain influence within the European Parliament.
According to sources to Le Soir, it is the World Cup country Qatar that tried to bribe politicians to make decisions in their favor and take the reviled championship in defense.

Cannabis growers are charged with serious drug offences
The couple grew cannabis in a basement in Gävle and in August the police raided the house, write Gefle Daily.
The couple was arrested and 22 kilos of cannabis were seized. A few weeks ago, two more men were arrested in Stockholm. According to the prosecutor, they provided the couple in the house with equipment, paid the electricity bills and regularly inspected the crops.

67 journalists killed this year
So far in 2022, 67 journalists have been killed in the line of duty, according to the International Federation of Journalists IFJ’s compilation.
This is an increase from 47 last year and one of the reasons is the war in Ukraine where twelve journalists have been killed so far.
The number of imprisoned journalists is also increasing. 375 journalists are behind bars because of their work, most of them in China including Hong Kong, Myanmar and Turkey, according to the IFJ. That is ten more compared to last year’s report.
The politician requested mileage compensation – for flights
A moderate politician requested more than SEK 10,000 in mileage compensation for a trip from his house in the south of France to Piteå, the Piteå-Tidningen writes.
But instead of driving, he flew.

Auction fiasco for T-Rex

The sale came a month after another auction of a Tyrannosaurus skeleton had to be canceled due to questions over how much of the skeleton was genuine.

Armed robbery – threatened woman and boy
The police were called to Bunkeflostrand in Malmö at around 10 p.m. There, two masked perpetrators had blocked the road with a vehicle and then threatened a woman and a boy with a weapon-like object.

Sentenced to prison for the death of George Floyd
A second police officer is now being sentenced for the death of George Floyd in 2020, AP reports.
The policeman is sentenced to three and a half years in prison after kneeling George Floyd’s back.
George Floyd died in connection with a police intervention in Minneapolis in the United States.
After his death, the Black Lives Matter movement spread widely throughout the world.
Derek Chauvin has already been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of George Floyd. He was convicted of pressing his knee against Floyd’s neck for over nine minutes.
The EU leader arrested after the raid

The vice president of the European Parliament, Eva Kaili, has been arrested, reports AFP.
According to Belgian Soiree the police have raided the home of Kaili, who is being investigated for corruption.
The newspaper writes that Belgian police investigated suspicions that Qatar tried to bribe politicians to make decisions in their favor.
On Friday, they raided 16 locations in Belgium where a total of six million kroner in cash was seized.
Dutch plans for nuclear power plants
Two new nuclear power plants to be ready in 2035 and able to produce 13 percent of all electricity consumed in the Netherlands. The plans were presented by Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Friday, writes TT.
– By adding nuclear power to our total energy mix, we can reduce carbon dioxide emissions and make ourselves less dependent on other countries, where these fossil fuels come from, says Rutte.
Electricity consumption plummeted in October
21.5 percent.
This is how much less electricity the electricity grid company Ellevio’s private customers used in October compared to the average for the same month in the last three years, TT reports.
“Remarkable” says Jesper Liveröd, press manager at Ellevio.
