Google wants you to ditch your employer-provided software tools in favor of theirs. The Mountain View company has just added a new offer to its collaborative online service Workspace, which brings together different productivity applications on the Cloud.
With Google Workspace Essentials Starter, Google offers professionals free access to Google Drive (15 GB), Meet, Chat, Docs, Sheets and Slides, although it is not possible to access Gmail.
Because, to benefit from it without purse, the American giant asks you to connect using your professional e-mail address. However, you will not need to register a credit card, and the service will be usable without time limit – Google specifies that this is not a trial version. You will then only have to invite your colleagues to join you to work together on your documents.
Google Workspace Essentials Starter should only be available in the next few weeks. The dedicated page proposes for the moment to register in order to be notified of the availability of the service.
By offering free access to its Workspace tools, Google will most likely attract users of small structures that do not already have such tools. But the firm probably hopes to compete with Microsoft, leader in this sector, by grabbing users with access to Microsoft 365.

Be careful though, the offer may be free, but the privacy policy of some companies prohibits their employees from using services and tools outside of those provided internally. Check with your employer before registering for this offer.
