Frances central bank estimates weak growth next year

(Finance) – The French economy will grow next year but at a slow pace. That’s what he estimates governor of the Bank of France Francois Villeroy de Galhau which, on the microphones of radio Franceinfo, declared that it expects “probably weakly positive” growth in 2023, after which it should reach 2.6% in 2022.

“It won’t be 2.6%” next year – warned the banker – but “probably a slightly positive growth”. “I can’t rule out a recession, but this is not our central scenario” – added the head of the Banque de France – which is expected to unveil its projections up to 2025 next week.
